Body screws (not pivot) solely affecting blade tension/centering?

A few days ago I was lucky enough to pull the trigger on one of GP Knives exclusive orange G10 Strider SnG's when they became available. Having received it, I find myself embroiled in a knife construction mystery unlike any other I've experienced before. I have owned 4 SnG's altogether, and a wide variety of other knives, but none of them have displayed this characteristic:

Essentially what is happening is that I can loosen/tighten the pivot almost entirely in either direction, and the blade centering/tension will not be affected. It stays bang on centered even completely loose, and tightening it almost all the way down doesn't make the deployment any stiffer. What does seem to be affecting that, however, is the body screws (specifically the one closest to the pivot). If I loosen/tighten the body screws, I can adjust the centering and blade tension. Unfortunately, the sweet spot seems to leave the screws relatively loose.

Should I just loctite the body screws in their semi-loosened state? Also, does anyone have a mechanical explanation for why this may be occurring?

Just sounds like a tight knife,,, should loosen up... If it were mine, i would remove the blade and massage the washers as i have done many.

Blow out the pivot good and work the blade a couple hundred times dry then oil it and see if that helps.

I am sure this is not the case but I will throw it out there anyway. Are the body screws too long so they actually touch the blade when fully tightened?

With Striders, the body screws are completely enshrouded in the g10 scale/integral backspacer so they don't come near the blade. The plot thickens!

I would guess the scales are just rigid enough to keep equal pressure on both sides of the blade; so the blade stays centered regardless of the pivot's tightness. When its adjusted correctly, will anything rattle? if not then I would just apply some lock tight and forget about it. :)

It sounds like the pivot may not be tightening all the way, I wonder if a burr or dust is preventing it from tightening. It sounds like the frame is tighter at the spacer than the pivot.

It's likely a burr, something is out of spec or a scale is not perfectly flat. I bet everything is in spec and flat but there is some crud/metal in there. It could be the smallest thing... if the knife is taken apart I'd lightly tap everything on a workbench/counter (this will sometimes knock a burr off if it is loose) or if it is in one piece a WD40 blast might help. Take the pivot apart and blast it...

This is just a guess but I make folders and when I have had that problem it has always been one of the above.
