Bodycote & DLC or BC 1 for individuals

I know a while back that Bodycote would provide DLC or BC1 coatings for individuals and that this process stopped because of capacity (one machine doing DLC). The word was that it was dealers/collectors only. And despite my best efforts in contacting the Greensborough (sp?) facility in NC, I haven't heard anything. Bottom line. I don't want BT2 for my EDC. But I would like something like DLC, titanium nitride, or BC1 for my knives. My question is if Bodycote isn't taking requests from individuals, what, if any, are my options?

I received an email response from them rather quickly. Sadly, it stated they STILL weren't taking private orders.

Your best bet is to contact a custom maker who uses the coating and ask if he will send your knives in with a batch of his.
