Well, I traded/sold my Battle Rat a couple of years ago, then traded/sold my Bog Dog. I don't even remember where these went, or what I got for them. I do know that I miss them. I have even gone so far as to contemplate letting my Howling Rat go just for a Bog Dog (and end up missing the HR at some point :)). The blade shape and handle grip were great in my opinion, and I just don't use the HR as much as I did the Bog Dog. What is comparable in the current line? Any plans to bring the Bog Dog back?

I never had one, but always loved the look......once I got my Gen 1 Howler, I never really looked for anything else.....near perfection!

I never got one. Got a INFI Scrapper4 with the mudder handle and disliked it greatly. Seemed to slippery in my hands vs. regular Res-C handles. Actually bot TWO and sold both a year later.

I like the Dog blade design, but disliked the mudder. Picked up a CS Dog Skinner. Similar blade but a micarta handle. I like it.

How thick/sturdy is the Dog Skinner? A typical Swamp Rat beast? Any idea what those are going for on the forum? I LOVE that handle! (sorry to hijack the thread!)

The skinner is a fairly thin knife in D2 and the micarta handle could've been thicker. That said is one of my fav blades which is kept on rotation. I bought for a steal a couple of years ago and never regretted it.

I would love to get the Bogdog but the 2ndary market price is too high for me for an almost identical blade. If you like the mudder I don't think you can go wrong with the Bd. It is funny the early swamp knives are close to perfection (RW old school, HW 1st Gen, Tramp, Skinner). They really seem to be asleep right now.
