Bog oak treatment?

I ordered a knife with a 5000 year old bog oak handle, does it work well to just treat it with linseed oil just like any other wood handle?

You can do linseed if you like. Is the wood Stabilized? When I’ve used it for one of of my Culinary knives. It’s fine with just some white buffing compound worked in. Oak by it’s self is tough wood..
