I have put a new handle on this rather unusual seaxblade made by Götz.
I had previously wrapped the handle in leather, but I recently stumbled on this lovey piece of "white-oak burl".
It was treated in an old fashioned way that I learned while making my medieval crossbow.
The bolster is mammothbark attached in an curved joint that follows the grain of the mammothbark.
The blade is made from bog ore collected by Götz himself.
I have been told that it is made useing methods from the time of the Vikings.
The sad dragon was forged by a good friend of mine.
I was not trying to make this as traditional as possible, I just followed my own weird ideas
Please let me know what you think.
Thanks for looking.
Regards
