At long last I got my hands on my new Bohemian Broadsword. It actually came in last Friday, but I was out of town and so did not get to see it until Monday evening. Here is what I found:

It is a beautiful piece of work. I have not had a chance to cut with it yet but I will do that at the first opportunity and amend this report. Here are the vital statistics:

Arms and Armor Bohemian Broad Sword

Overall Length: 44.5 inches
Bladel Length 36.5 inches
Point of Balance: 7.5 inches from cross
Center of Percussion: 22.5 inches from cross
Weight: 2.8 lbs
Pommel type: Writhen Type T variant
Cross type Writhen Type 10 variant
Blade type XIIa

Performance Review:
Although nearly as large as the GBS the Bohemian broadsword handles in a far different manner. This is a hand and a half sword that can actually be used with one or both hands. This is mostly due to its vastly smaller weight. I have not yet had the opportunity to cut with this sword but I will!

Appearance:
Another gorgeous piece from A&A the pommel and cross are truly exceptional. The 1/4 fuller is well executed on both sides of the blade. There is no discernible waviness or grind marks. A&A is said to have the the best finish in the production sword business for a reason.

Now a further word about A&A. These guys are absolutely outstanding to work with. Craig was very courteous and helpful on the phone. He fielded numerous questions in a very patient and straightforward manner. They shipped exactly when they said they would. The packing job that they did on the sword was excellent, I would venture to say that it was on par with if not surpassing the famed Albion packing job. Finally the guys their sent me a free copy of their catalog without any prompting on my part. (They have some new smallsword available now). An absolutely topnotch outfit. You can bet that I will buy from them again.

Sweet lookin' blade. Let us know how it performs! What is Arms and Armour's website, can't seem to find it?
