Boise knife show this weekend

Let's Rock!! I'm going to head out early Thursday morning for the 9 hour +/- drive...hopefully the weather will cooperate! :)

Look forward to visiting with everyone in Boise!

Looks like there will be four or five of us heading for the show on Thurs. Eldon Perkins, Butch Deveraux and his bide Shannon, Chris Amos and yours truly.
New knives and looking forward to a great weekend.

will be good to see you and the gang again Jim. Its been years. Travel safe everybody.

Sounds like it will be a fun show.
I am getting everything packed up and will start our drive late Wednesday night. For weather I was hoping for sunny and in the 70s. That's not too much to ask for, ....is it?

Look forward to highs in the mid 40's with partial cloudy skies for the weekend. Snowed here last night but gone now.

I just bought a set of chains. By the price I paid they must be made with damascus steel. Looks like the weather is going to behave but you never know about the northwest. See everyone on Friday!

Flying out thurs morning. Get into Boise 130. Get the car and head to the motel. Any good food in the area??

I'll finally get to meet some of my fellow Idahoans! Great list from bhyde. I will repeat the recommendation of Cobby's for their great sandwiches.

I'll be hanging out at this show and the show next door (gun show). I'd be glad to help in any way I can while you folks are out this way. I'll leave my phone number with the entry cashiers.

Cobby’s does have really good samiches, if you get a large it will probably last most of your stay. The Stage Coach Inn is an old fashion meat and tater place not too far from the fair grounds. In the same area there is the Ranch Club and another location of Chapala. I took a look at the neighborhood of the Expo center on the way to an appointment the other day, across Chinden and/or Glenwood a bunch of places. Shari’s (kinda of an Elmers/Perkins like regional chain), Arbbys, McDonalds, Carl Jr., and probably a couple more I’m forgetting. There is also a Chinese something Wok place and Chapala's, Casa Mexico and maybe another Mexican place (El Gio Grio?) by Dairy Queen. As bhyde said Sockeye is not too far, a bit further afield is Harrison Hollow another brewery and restaurant. Further west out Chinden in Lindy’s Steak House and the Nut House a sports bar, haven’t been to either for a long time. For local flavor there are some old school drive inns, West Side on State St., Fancy Freeze, Hawkins Pack Out, Big Bun, etc.

If you take your meat fried try finger stakes, probably close as we get to a local delicacy. I know the West Side, Big Bun, and Quinn’s and Tablerock all have good homemade ones. Ask and avoid the frozen ones, they are an abomination.

And I am right next door to Lindy's at my job :D

Lindy's isn't bad, but I haven't been there in a long time.

headed out in the am thanks for all the food ideas guys. I needed suggestions on where to take the wife as she is along for the ride and the escape from the kids more than the show I am betting.
