I recently bought this folding hunter with Jigged green bone, marked "tree brand classic" "2002", frosted. It's tang stamp is "Boker Soligen"
The knife is advertised as carbon steel. To me it looks more like the 440C stainless, which I did not want.
I can find nothing on this knife in catalogs going back to 2002. I know there are a few carbon steel bladed variants of this model around, but I'm concerned with this one. I would return it if I found it really was 440C.
Some of the stainless knives are marked 440C, some aren't.
Any one have any info on this particular model which I just bought as old stock, NIB?
Sure, It's beautiful. I don't want stainless folding hunters though.
Any advice other than trying to stain or oxidize the blade?
Thank you for your time. Joe/Raleigh
