Does anyone own these knives? how are they? Also what is the differences between them because the EFD is about $40 cheaper than the AFD but I am unable to find any info about them really. thanks

Hi, i have a boker afd,ive had it since it came out a few years ago. its got an s60 blade steel, the efd(escrima folding dagger) has a 440c blade, pointier butt, holes in the guards, about 5"black aluminum handle, different grooves in the handles. its got a big, chunky handle, very wide & flat. the 4" blade isnt the best for everyday utility, but its still pretty cool & unique.the liner locks at the 1st part of the blade shank,& it can be partialy flipped open using one of the guards.deep pocket clip keeps it low in the pocket.it carries well, too for a big folder.its a bit expensive, i got the afd for 112.00 when it first came out,got a deal on it.its much more, now. the escrima is around 110-150 or so,you should do a google search on it.the boker turbine is a much more practical knife, i have that one, too.has the x15 blade, flipper, aluminum handle, too.i really like the turbine, more than the afd/escrima.

Hey goldie. I've come close several times to getting the AFD but have yet to pull the trigger. From what I can find out I know that the blade is relativelly thick, at 3/16". How thick is the liner that locks it? Also I haven't been able to find a picture of the backside to see where the clip is placed. Does it ride low in the pocket, or does it have an inch or more of knife sticking out of the pocket? Thanks for any info you can give!

Went and googled Boker AFD and answered all my questions. It has a deep enough pocket clip that I could live with, and the liner looks to be somewhere in the .060" range. Found this info, along with some really good pics on a site called www.themartialist.com Sounded like a good knife from the review, and unfortunerly, one I'm going to have to get.:(;):D

Looks like you already got the info listed. I'm really liking what I saw on his site.

the liner is slightly thicker than a spyderco military.pocket clip is mounted for tip down, just about all the knife disapears in the pocket.
