I've been eyeing the Boker Albatros. Anyone have a newer one so they can give their input on whether or not it still has the problems that the first run did?

I got one last week. Everything is pretty solid on mine. No lock rock. The detent is really strong though, almost a two handed knife for me. It also came with a dull edge. I like it though.

Wow, over 100 views, but only one person responded? Strong detents always kind of annoyed me since I prefer flicking my blades instead of using two hands. Do you think it's worth the 100 or so dollars?

I got one yesterday from the jungle and im very pleased with it. Detent isn't bad at all and it has a early lock up with no play at all in any direction. Doesn't flick open for me but its a smooth one hand open and close. Also came pretty sharp.

Its a very cool knife that definitely is an eye catcher

A lot of people may be like me, opened the thread because they too were curious about the knife. I don't own one, but I was gonna check out what other forum goers had to see about it.

I asked this same question in the Boker subforum not too long ago and had no luck getting an answer. When these first came out some had play right outta the box, while others took some time to develop, but they nearly all suffered the same ultimate fate, due to the bizarrely-angled tang grind. Any chance one of you who've recently got one could post up a pick of the tang where it's ground for the lock bar? I'd LOVE to pick one of these up, but no way until I'm sure they've addressed this glaring issue. :(

Had mine for about two weeks and "I am not regretting the plunge" ! The detent is good on mine and locks up is early & great. I would not advise "strongarm" flicking the Albatros..due to the size and weight. I can open it and close it fine with one hand after it broke in. No lock rock at all on mine. It did come dull..but I took care of that, so all is well now. Feel is very solid and well put together..but the weight takes a little getting used to but it does carry good in my rear pocket. I'll add a pic of the tang for G.Scott asap

Just took this one with my cellphone...

Hey, many thanks for the pic, Vince. That looks to me about the same as the original run, maybe not quite as severe a "scoop" shape. I'll have to go back later and look at some of the original pics before I can be sure. I really hope you guys all continue to have better luck than some of the earlier users of this knife had. Please keep us informed as time goes by (like a couple months from now or so). Thanks again.

I know this thread has been silent for awhile but to update and a heads up I just got mine in today absolutely no lock rock mine is solid (at least for now) and razor sharp. No problem to open one handed and I GOT IT FOR $58.30!!!! I just checked and they have 58 left in stock. Pretty much a steal. Heres the link to [Removed]

I just got an Albatros today and it is rock solid, smooth opening and sharp as heck. The only problem is the pocket clip screws. Using the provided wrench one screw nearly stripped out and the other is not that good. Does anyone know what size the screws are? I'm wanting to take the knife apart and have the scales anodized.
