I love the Boker Anti Grav and Anti MC knives. They look fantastic and are so light weight. I'm worried about them being ceramic though. I'll be using my knife for backpacking and am not really sure what cutting tasks it will see. Is there anything else out there like these but made from steel?

Ceramic blades are a big risk. I do not understand the appeal of something that might break on you. Might as well use flint or obsidian...

There are folders with steel blades that look similiar, like the Kershaw OD1.

That Kershaw is a good looking knife, maybe not as elegant as the Boker though. I'd love to see something like that with a VG10 or 154CM steel.

You should be worried about taking a ceramic knife as your one and only. It would be foolish in my opinion. There are literally hundreds of folders that you can use for backpacking. I would recommend a fix blade though, it really is an obvious choice. Those Booker ceramic folders are more for light duty cutting, maybe even kitchen duty. Tostig nailed it.

What more than light duty cutting would there be though? I see absolutely no need for a fixed blade with it's extra size and weight. I want to keep my pack light and would consider not taking a knife before something that's heavy.
