Howdy folks,

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Boker Applegate Fairbarn with the Besh-wedge tip? I've been looking for a nice dagger for a while now, and this looks like an interesting one. Anyone have one of these, or at least handled one?

Thanks in advance,

Andy

Just bumping this up. Has anyone had the chance to play with one of these? I have one on order, I'll write up a review once it arrives.

Cheers!

ok so i ordered one out of curiosity. the blade itself is pretty nice, i really like the besh wedge design. the knife is pretty small and thin. they didnt spend much time on the sheath, but its put together well and it holds they knife in place VERY securely, so thats a good thing. my only complaint with the knife is that the handle is pretty short. it makes gripping the knife a bit more difficult than it should be. but for $20 bucks i cant really complain. id say go ahead and order one, for $20 bucks its a decent deal.

$20? I don't think you're talking about the same knife. I haven't seen the Boker A-F for less than a c-note.

there is a new boker plus version with the besh wedge style that is only 20 dollars. i think this is the same knife the op was talking about right ?

Sorry to resurrect a thread from the dead.

I have always liked the AF dagger since I saw it in SOF magazine in the '80s. I picked one up recently on fleabay and didn't realize it had the besh wedge. I am not crazy about it.
Do you guys think it is reasonable to have a bladesmith recontour it to a more standard grind?
Seeking opinions.

Up to you , but the whole point (pun) of the knife is the besh wedge . It is designed for a specific function . Read about it . If that's not what you want , then sell it and get what you want . Many daggers are fairly fragile , yours ain't .

I've owned the knife in question. Fit and finish is good for the price point. The edges didn't come as sharp as I like and the sheath was...passable.

I grabbed one because I was curious about the Besh Wedge profile.

After my handling it, I say I absolutely prefer a fine point on a dagger. I could imagine this having difficulty getting into biker or winter garb.

This looks kind of cool. (Surgical stainless *rollseyes*

I am going to get a custom knife with an improved Lape wedge. My own design.
Seriously ? Like from CM . That would be cool . We need pics .
