Just acquired a Boker Arbolito knife in trade with my brother. I was just curious if anyone knew what type of steel is used. All I can seem to find anywhere is that it is stainless (something I very much already knew :D ). If anyone has the answer, I would much appreciate sharing that knowledge. Thanks

I would assume, knowing Boker, its probably a 440C, but I could be wrong..:eek:

You know, I WAS wrong once, but I was mistaken...lol.

Which Böker model is it? Böker has several models made at their Arbolito plant in Argentina like the TopLock. Incidentally, the TopLock's steel is 420 stainless at a 54-55 Rockwell hardness.

If it's the one with Kraton handles, it's 420 stainless.

@el cid:

The knive you have attached in your post is the Böker "Arbolito", a knife which I own myself and use very much! But the steel is not 420, it is 440C!!:) :) A very good knife for the money they ask you for it.

I stand corrected. Thanks Sniper! ;) I knew their wood handled ones were 440C, but I thought the Argentine made ones were not.

Yip, I've got the Boker Arbolito in my hand right now and it says 440c on it. The marking is starting to fade though.
Good little knife with great steel, I just wish the blade would be a bit thicker and remain the same thickness right to the tip, oh well. I wear this one around the house when my other knives seem to heavy.

I just picked one up as a gift for my father. Mine also says 440C. It is the model 516. Seems like a good knife for the money. I'll probably get one for myself.

I sell it very often. A friend of mine has it for camping and is very happy with it.
You will not be disappoited.
