I got three of the 74's now. Good bang for the buck, imo. Good quality control. All three of mine came with solid lockup. Fast openers and sharp out of the box. The scales fit my medium sized hands well. The deep pocket clip design is nice as well. I don't really like all the wave design it has, but its a minor issue and likely is there to make it work better. Aus8 on my three has perfromed as well as any lower dollar aus8 knife, I have. Takes a good edge and holds it well enough.
Now the bad. All three of mine have very slight blade play side to side, not up and down. I beleives its due to the design or conversion. It very minor and while normally blade play annoys me massively, it doesn't on these as they are all identical in that regard. All came from different vendors who converted them, so that's why I believe the blade play is due to the design/conversion. I have not triedadjusting the pivot to see if that cures it and it might? Also warranty is null and void once converted, but its a 40 buck knife, so........
For under 40 bucks already milled and spring installed its hard to go wrong. For the money its the best auto conversion out there, imho.
Mind you its no benchmade auto, but its not junk by any means either.
