Hi all, I'm a fan of the Boker CLB series, seeing as they are great all-around value and performance for the price.

Anyway, I recently saw the Boker Batman... I like the looks of it but what is the practical purpose of having a blade with a shape/grind like that?
If I end up getting one, I honestly can't think of an everyday scenario where the knife would be good for general cutting tasks. Feel free to correct me if you disagree :D

Thanks for the input.

I just got one and I have absolutely no use for it. But I bought it knowing that fact.:D I wanted it for it's uniqueness, and to see how the new Boker Plus series of knives are built. What i found out is that this is a lot of knife for the price. Well built with great fit/finish. The blade wasn't as sharp as I like, but a minute on my Sharpmaker had it slicing newsprint with no trouble. I guess it would make a suitable defensive knife if someone wanted to use it as such. It does have a lot in commom with the Spyderco Civilian, which is a purpose built knife.

Well worth the money it cost!:thumbup::)

The B@tman is a purpose designed knife. It was designed by Kevin Harvey of South Africa as a defensive knife after he attended an edged weapons course.
It will work for other, more utilitarian jobs, but was designed as a defensive knife.
