I'm looking into this knife and wondering what the durability of this handle material will be compaired to other wood handle materials used today? Any feedback is welcome. Thanks K.B.

I'd love to know, as well. I have one, and I can tell you that the wood scales on mine have a rough, unsealed sort of feel. (I don't mean it would give you splinters, it just makes me think it might absorb stuff) I've been hesitant to use it around anything messy. Besides that, it is well made, and the carbon blades get nice and sharp.

I know this is an old thread, but thought my input could be used anyways. Ive owned the beer barrel trapper for about 5 months now. I daily carry this knife about 2-3 days a week, and almost always to work. I work in a restaurant, and I often use it to cut all kinds of food, from lemons (blade has taken on a beautiful patina from the acidic lemons) to steaks. I use it hard lol. Handles have stayed in very good condition, no wear at all. Id recommend rubbing on a little tung oil every now and then.
