Pics added.

I just picked up a Solingen Boker congress for $5. I think I have seen the handles in a picture before but I can't find the picture. The handle is a translucent striped material. The design is a red stripe alternating with yellow stripe. There are thin white stripes on each side of the yellow. It is marked: Boker Solingen Germany with a tree stamp. It has four blades: one pen, two sheepsfoot, and a small sheepsfoot. I will try to get pictures up later, as I don't have my Imageshack ID handy. What can you guys tell me about it?

I'm thinking it looks like this?

That's Boker's "candy stripe," or at least, I found that image and others by Googling "Boker candy stripe congress."

(I have no further knowledge of the knife, but if it's in good condition, $5 is a steal! Bokers tend to be good, solid knives.)

Well, the handle material you describe is usually called candystripe, either celluloid or acrylic depending on what the actual material is. The small sheepsfoot sounds unusual, possible a coping blade that has had the spine rounded off. Those old German Bokers are good knives, so $5 sounds like a steal. Congrats.

I like the Boker Congress. I have a Boker Congress Whittler, but man, are the small blades nail breakers!

It is the knife picture by Pertinux and it does have a coping blade. I didn't know what to call it so I called it a small sheepsfoot.

I type slow. Sarah got that picture up while I was composing that brief reply.

Carried but good. Some scratches on the bolsters and the liners. It looks like the liner have been sanded on the inside but I don't care. I probably won't ever see the scratches again.

There is some discoloration on the tip of the pen blade. Looks almost like a bad heat treat but who knows. Sorry I could not get a better photo.
