Hi guys, I have mother of pearl classic 2005 boker. Beautiful knife, solid finish & Lock. Yet I found my German 440C SS is not sharp sharp. It looks too beautiful to use any way. Do you guys feel the same way that the blade is not sharp?

Is boker classic similar to Case classic in a way that those knife blade are not made to use. They are more of collection knives in nature.

Aloha wuyeah,

Hmmmm, strange. Case makes excellent using knives, as does Boker. I do not own a true Boker knife yet, let alone a fancy one such as yours, so i cannot comment on the edge sharpness.

However, i do KNOW that both Boker and Case make great using knives. ( I have tried some, just don't own one yet.:o )

God bless:thumbup:

Is it possible that i am spoiled by Spyderco already:confused:

Aloha wuyeah!

Hahaha!!! YES, that could be a possibility! I know i have gotten spoiled by Spyderco Knives!

Say my friend, have you checked out the Boker/Magnum SUBCOM thread here?

Stay safe and God bless:thumbup:

Case uses some kind of 420 for their stainless steel, excellent for a collector knife, very rust resistant, but not the best for using. Case carbon steel is an excellent user steel, as is Boker carbon. Boker does a great job treating 440C (much better user steel than 420) and their 440C can often perform as well or better than "higher-end" steels from companies that don't do a good job with heat-treatment and quality control. If you want to use that knife, just sharpen it with a good sharpening system, if you want to simply collect don't. This may be off topic in a Boker forum, but I have used almost every kind of blade steel out there and my favorite is Spyderco VG-10, but don't count Boker 440C short.
