Hello everyone, newbie poster here. I hope I'm in the right place and following correct protocol.

I just purchased a knife on eBay which was listed as a "Vintage German Boker Red Bone Congress Knife N/R MIB". (seller stated that it's in "incorrect box")

Upon receiving it, the first thing that I noticed was that the blade isn't marked 'Finest Quality' as another Boker Congress Irecently purchased. I figure, ok, no biggie. But what's got me puzzled is that there is no model number stamped on any of the tangs. The only stamp is Boker, Solingen, Germany. This seems odd to me.

Could anyone comment on what might be going with this knife? Is this common? Is it a fake? Maybe a ballpark date of manufacture? Any helpful info would be appreciated, thanks!

OK, now I'm beginning to feel a little foolish. I looked at another Boker of mine, a stag trapper, and it has no model number stamped on the tangs either. I suppose this is normal? Admittedly, I'm no expert. (But then that's why I'm here.)

The Boker Congress Whittler I just received today has no model number stamped, only H. Boker & Co. Solingen, with the Tree next to it. My Beer Barrel Whittler also has no model number stamped. Now, I have a couple older Boker Barlows, and they do have the model number stamped, and nothing else.
