I have always loved them too, despite the general lack of practicality. I have a Boker, not their top of the line model but from their lower end "Magnum" line, and like it, it's got good balance and they didn't mess up the grinds (on many daggers the lines don't come together symetrically). Don't like Gerber, never liked their stuff even back in the 80's before they were bought by Fiskars.
The Cold Steel Taipan is nice but quite big, I am not a fan of some of their lower end daggers as they are mostly flat on one side, this may be functional but I hate it aesthetically plus they don't exactly make this clear to buyers.
