Hello,

I've had a Boker titanium/ceramic Delta (item no. 2040):
https://www.boker.de/us/index.php?c=37,1,16&a=2040&p=&pp=0

for about 7 years, it was given to me with the blade broken where it locks, so the blade can't close and lock. Other than this the blade is fine although it could use a resharpening job. Its been sitting in a box for all these years and I'm either looking to get it fixed somewhere (I'm in Edinburgh, Scotland), send it for free to whoever wants it or throw it away (bit of a shame as it used to be a 300 USD knife). I already emailed boker twice and didn't get any reply.

Advise or anyone who wants it?

I also have titanceramic[????} blade of boker blade , as collecting .
those knives are made by japan kycer.
Boker only one or 2 items are worhty for buying .
I think we should save our money to buy usa & japanese proucts.

Definitely don't throw it away! The blade may be hard to save, but the handle would fit another blade, if you could find someone willing to make you one. I would recommend trying to find a way to get it to Boker. Look for a telephone number, as that's always worked for me. Sounds like they might be able fix it up for you. It's worth a try. I've sent in knives to Boker before, and they are always great about fixing or replacing.

If all else fails, send it to a worthy person, and hopefully they have an idea of something to do with it.

Sorry, but I didn't receive any email. Please resend.

Let us know what you decide to do with it. Definitely check out the Boker sub-forum as Huugh has linked to.

Ok, what I said in the email was if you give me your address I'll send you it for free. If you want to send something back thatd be cool, if you don't thats cool too. seems like youre a bit of a knife fan so I'd be happy to give it to you as I don't have the resources to go about getting it fixed and it'd be a shame to throw it away.

Cheers,

Laurens

Please email me (ddorn777 at hotmail dot com), or post your email, and I'll get you that info.

I already have a plan for the knife, if you do decide to give it to me.

I appreciate your generosity.

Dang!!
I was in Leicester, England a couple weeks ago and would have driven up there to pick it up. I use mine as a food cutter when eating out. I just like these knives, classic, slim lines.
Good score Daniel.

I would still say check out with the boker forum. just my opinion but its nice to see your level of generosity. :)

take care

I have had that knife for quite a few years now (unbroken blade) and absolutely love it. Unfortunately (which you would know if you had bought it new), broken blades are not covered by the lifetime warranty. It's a known problem with all ceramic blades. Boker will replace the blade with a new one - for a fee. Don't know how much they will charge, but heck, ask them. It can't be more than the cost of a new knife (which, as you've noted, can be quite substantial), and it's a beautiful knife and well worth salvaging.

If I receive it, I will probably send it back to get a 440V blade replacement. I love titanium handles, and a premium blade steel would work nicely. If the knife is fix-able with the ceramic, and doesn't cost, I would still enjoy a sharpened blade. I've had an eye out for this knife for many years! I've been able to get a Puma Keramik, but it just isn't as classy as the Boker 2040.

Daniel

P.S. Email received!
