I have Boker CLB Direkt that I like quite a bit except that it has a very small amount of up/down blade play. The side-to-side is rock solid. I have oiled the knife and adjusted the pivot screw quite a bit and the only way to get rid of the play is to tighten it down completely. When I loosen the pivot screw to allow the knife to be operable with the flipper the play is there. When the knife is open and I press my finger on the liner the blade play disappears. On normal opening the lock looks to be more than adequately engaged, but that last little pressure seems to remove the blade play. Is it possible/probable that as the knife breaks in that the liner lock engagement on opening will firm up further taking away the blade play?
The amount of play is really minor, and I could live with it if I had to, but I have a pretty low tolerance for such things. I have a number of the Boker CLB (the Trance is my favorite) and have never experienced any blade play whatsoever until this one.
