i am looking at a boker DT congress with stag handle for $135 at an online store. steel is just listed as stainless. i called the dealer but he did not know which steel, or if this knife is more of a "looker" than a good working knife. i would appreciate hearing from boker owners about these knives and the double tree line in particular. thanks.

i think all stainless böker traditional patterns use 420hc or something quite similar, not sure tho

I had a Boker stag stockman a few years back. It had 440C etched on the blade. It was a good cutting knife. My older boy is still using it.

Boker uses a wide variety of steels, such as 440C, ATS34, 1095, damascus and sometimes its just "soligen" or "rostfrei" :) If AGRussell sells it and the steel is known, he usually identifies the steel in his on-line catalog.

Has anyone ever handled the Boker Trapperliner?, it looks like an interesting knife, just wondering if anyone had any opinions on it.
