Boker Escrima Advanced Fighting Knife any good ?

I personally never handled one but have seen it in magazines on several occasions. The handle looks to be very ergonomic in whatever grip you choose. Didn't realize the size until I read the description in the link. That's a little too big for an EDC for me but if they made it a little bit smaller then it would be a great knife. Double hilt for hand protection, and also if you modified it to carry tip up, you could use the hilt as a wave feature.

I've never handled this one but I did handle the folding version once.

I know that on the folding version, CNC shaped aluminium scales are a bit too aggressive on hands. Not that the finish is not good. It is very well made but too aggressive. They say they improved handle. Maybe they did correct that.

Aluminium scales makes the knife handle-heavy, which is supposed to be good for a dagger.

Design is quite cheesy, particularly holes in the middle.

For price, craftmanship/fit-and-finish seem good.

Apart from that, well... it's a dagger. I'm not sure why one would choose it over the Applegate version, but is less expensive.

You answered your own question, Ravaillac. The reason someone would choose it over the Applegate version is because it's less expensive. In fact, it costs about half as much as the the Applegate version. It's also made in China, not in Germany.

I'm interested in the EFK and I doubt I'll be able to get my hands on one before I make a purchase decision. So if anyone has actually taken it in hand and can report their experience, I'd be grateful for their feedback. Thanks.

I'm not thinking of it so much for EDC as simply to have a dagger in my collection. Of course, if I'm not going to use it, an argument could be made for acquiring anything that happens to appeal to me. But I'd rather get a dagger that seems to be reasonably well made from a manufacturer with a decent reputation. The Applegate Fairbairn dagger is high quality but it costs more than I want to spend. That's why I'm considering the EFK.
