Is anyone else here getting in on the Massdrop exclusive Boker FR in S35vn? It seems like a good deal for that steel, a titanium frame, and G-10 inserts at $90.

Nope. Not a fan of boker China made knives. I had 2 bz design bokers... Really cheap stuff. Letter openers basically. Nice to slice soft food tho. Had to get rid of. They are probably fine for new knife people. My other bokers are also just really cheaply made. To me they try and use premium materials and on paper it seems like a good idea but it falls really short. At least when compared to zt, Benchmade, spyderco etc.

Good to know. I've only owned the Boker Tech Tool 1 and found it to be fine for what it is (a $20 knife). Thanks for the response Mo2 Mo2 !

Checked out a nice (but not inexpensive) Boker belonging to a friend when one of their premium knives caught my eye. He was completely unimpressed with the knife. I trust his judgement, so no premium Boker work knife for me. Too many other offerings at the same price point with great reputations and quality.

It's sad, too. They make a line of traditional folders that I have been giving as gifts for years. They are very well made, have great walk and talk, some have blade steel of 440C, and I often carry one myself. Great folders in their traditional line, also Chinese made. Very inexpensive, too. Not "Rough Rider" inexpensive, but they all seem to be around $30. You would think since Boker outsources everything these days they could crack the code on their premium line of knives, but obviously at this time they haven't.
