boker heat treat

hey guys

since im not gettin any awnser in the boker subforum i thought i would move this over here hope you guys dont mind

i just purchased a boker trance in aus8 and a boker g4 in 440c steel and i cannot find any info on there heat treat and rockwell hardness on the 440c and aus8 steel they use does anyone have this info on this by chance

in the late 80s or early 90s boker asserted they were only european maker to produce good 440c as quoted by felix boker. these 440c by boker were expensive compared to their main production. even somewhat recent models were premiums in their line. american users were very positive as to blade quality . whatever they did was in general better than american factory models. in all my reading boker has'nt ever discussed the methods used. sorry this doe'nt answer the question but may give you some more info.
 
Why not drop Daywalker (Chad) an email. As he designed a number of knives for Boker, he would probably be able to answer your questions.
