I was wondering if any of you have had a chance to review the Boker JTN? I like the looks and have always liked clip-point knives but don't know much about Boker or the n690 blade steel. I normally use carbon steel knives but am looking for something a little more care free.

I really like the JTN also. Can't find much http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kv4q6vsoFoE except a video. Looks like a nice one to me.
I have been back and forth over buying the JTN, but have not purchased it yet. As far as the steel goes, N690CO, I've had a few knives that used this steel and currently have two in this steel, a Boker ArctosXL, and a Fox Deimos. I like this steel and have always thought it, in actual use, similar to 154CM, which is another favorite steel of mine. I have found that it takes a good razor sharp edge, holds it for a long time, and is easy to bring it back up, sorry that I cannot be more specific than that. I am not sure exactly why Boker calls it N690Bo, other than the obvious. Bottom line is that it is a fine steel, maybe not the latest super duper steel, but a very usuable steel that will work well for most people.

I did a serious reprofile on a N690Co blade and I now love the steel. I took the edge on my Ontario XM-1 from the factory ~50 inclusive to about 30 inclusive and it was one of the least reprofiling resistant steels I have worked with. The edge stuck around well too. Sadly it is a favorite steel that is rarely used.
I think I'll order this knife and give it a try. I prefer a knife that is not too hard to sharpen, so the n690 might be good choice for me. I know a lot of the durability of the blade is dependent on the heat treat. Any body out there have any experience or comments on Boker's heat treat?
