Boker Karambit Opinions

I'm in the market right now for a Karambit. Leaving the small price out of the equation for a moment the knife seems quite high quality, a 440c blade,
titanium coated, G10 handles, State legal in Illinois since it's just under 3 inches. I'm told the action is smooth and light to the touch.

I guess my question is since I don't have $200 to lay down for an Emerson is this the best (budget) Karambit for the price? An affordable high quality offering.
Does anyone have experience using this blade or care to give their opinions?
As Always Thank You!

Its only real big minus is lack of pocket clip. I received mine less than two weeks ago. I find its blade shape more useful than regular karambits. The "tanto" point is like small Whanrcliffe, making it extremely useful for box cutting and such.

It does have framelock and one big positive thing is that it locks securely with wrist flip but if you're paranoid you can also press the locking bar making it lock even more solidly. Unlike Com-series which had very tight framelcok, disengaging the framelock is pretty easy and works well one handed.

One thing I would like to improve and that would be put one extra spacer in karambit rings to make entire ring section more rigid. But no blade is perfect and CLB's karambit feels good, has very effective working blade shape and has good lock. It will give a lot for your bucks.

That Boker knife is nice and well made, but if you want a karambit on a budget, look for 5.11 Journeyman.

On budget that still depends where you live. You can get Böker for $27-$40 and 5.11 cost double or more than that and in Europe lot more.

I would also vote for the Journeyman karambit by 5.11

But.....I own the Boker and it is a nice folding karambit. Again, the lack of a pocket clip is a negative and since the framelock is made from steel instead of titanium it's a little heavier than I want it to be. But.........not using titanium keeps the cost way down and steel makes for a nice framelock as well.

Someone from another country posted on another forum recently that his new Boker has a pocket clip and he showed pics. So........the second run of these with the improvements Chad said were coming apparently has been made and will be available in the U.S. soon.
