It's been a little more then two years since I bought Boker Titanium kitchen knife and I was quite happy with it... until last week :grumpy:. The handle has broke when I was cutting a cheese. Actually, I've noticed cracks in the handle a month ago... they were coming from the inside out and now it's broke at the back end of the blade. I e-mailed bokerusa 5 days ago but no reply so far. Did anyone have this happened to him? What is your experience with Boker service?

I don't know if this will help you, but,
I had a problem with a Boker last year,
and I had my local knife dealer send it in for me for $10.
He said it would be cheaper to do it myself, but I just figured Boker would get to it sooner if a dealer sent it in.
Three weeks later, there it was, a brand new knife.
I didn't expect it all, they must have assumed it was a store return.
(I'm not sure, maybe they just figured it would be easier to replace it) I hope it helps!

If you have a local dealer that has the Boker line ask if he will exhange it for you.
I work for a knife store part time(I am retired), and he is the main dealer for Boker for Nevada, and told me when a customer comes in with a problem with a Boker to just exhange it for a new one if it is in stock as he has never had Boker kick one back for warranty replacement from the factory in Colorado.
Their warranty is outstanding, and should replace it no problem.
If you don't have a local dealer just go to their website, and check their instructions on how to send it in for repair/replacement.
Hope this helps.

Ours broke off in what sounds like the exact same place while I was cutting a sub sandwich in half. Still haven't sent it in yet, basically have enough kitchen knives that it hasn't been missed.

Bottom line: NOT on my list of knife recommendations! :D

well, it looks like you were right, LarryLuana. I sent my broken knife for replacement after receiving an e-mail from Boker. They told me that
"A defect was discovered in the handle of that particular line of knives (the blue titanium kitchen knives), which actually led to a recall of the product."

Glad I could be of some help. I know the store has always replaced any of the Boker knives even the ceramic ones, and the facotryhas replaced them. They will replace the ceramic ones if they break once or twice by accidently dropping them, etc. but after that they won't cover them as then it is considered negligence.
I have a couple of the blue titanium kitchen knives myself so will watch them, and if I have the same problem will get mine replaced also.
