Can someone tell me about the knifes, have you had experience with them. I am a big sucker for Wharnies and these are pretty slick looking, however, a decent investment.

Thanks

IMO the William Henry Global series compares very favorably for less money. The 07 model is a very nice wharncliff.

Not a big fan of Klotzi (sp?). Played with some and QC was iffy at best. Fit and finish were below expectations. Agree with WH being a good call. Or you could go custom if your budget allows. I have a small Kershaw Double Cross with Wharncliffe and an old Boker with Wharncliffe - great fruit peelers, enveloppe cutters, etc. Elegant lines.

PS - You sound like a Voivod fan. Am I right? I would be impressed as they are a not so well-known Canadian band.

I have also handled a couple and the QC was lacking. Fit and finish were not constant with the price. I concur with the recommendations of the WH line.

Maybe I'm a steel snob, but they seem pretty expensive knives for 440C...

I have one, an older Klotzi Whimpff with G10 scales. Nice enough, clean grind lines, locks up ok (but not great), came razor sharp. The newer carbon fibre models look better but there are nicer knives out there like the aforementioned William Henry line.

Just my 2cents

Klotzli Pros: Very lightweight package; Titanium clip; good thumbstud placement; low-profile thumbstud like a Sebenza; looks cool.

Klotzli Cons: Overpriced, they don't really sharpen them at the factory, CF scales are pretty but scratch very easily. You can find more reasonable prices either on Ebay or at www.starknives.com or at www.knifeworks.com. I forgot, their black coating sucks - avoid it.

Don't try to resell it, because you will get maybe half of your money back.

The Klotzli knives are good knives, but the one I had just didn't seem very rugged. There are other knives that I would choose other than a Klotzli. The above mentioned William Henry would be at or near the top of that list.
