It was branded AOW or something. The back of the package had BOKER on it!!

MADE IN CHINA.

There were several styles of folders and One MONSTEROUS fixed blade in 440c.

What is up with that?

ETA: I found a link at ebay... item Number 170030860033

The one in the Clothing sales DID NOT HAVE the boker logo on the blade, only on the back of the package very small.

It was branded AOW in black and red.

China is an emerging market for manufacturing. Lots of [legitimate] knife companies are tapping into it, producing goods at lower cost for the company & consumer.

I'm not familiar with the AOW brand that you mentioned, but possibly it's Boker's subsidiary for Chinese manufacturing? This is purely speculation on my part though.

Oh yeah, check out this post about the military models: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3789611&postcount=10
(reference the "Whats the deal with the Armed Forces folder?" thread)

The Boker Plus, Armed Forces Series line is new for 2006. Edited for SPAM. I have not handled any knives from Boker with the AOW on them. The Boker plus has some great knive at a very reasonable price. BO216 "MONSTEROUS fixed blade in 440c." BO112 Folder I liner lock. BO114 Folder II liner lock. They are 440C blades with G-10 handles. And they are imported from China. I sell them and I will not side step the fact that they are made in China. (unless China sides with North Korea, but thats another topic). Again they are a nice knife for their price range.

I do believe the "AOW" stands for "Art of War". I recall someone in this forum some months back mentioned that, on the military base he's stationed at, the Boker AF series is sold under that name.

Seen these knives yesterday of all places my favorite knife shop. They were marked AOW ( Art Of War ) on the blister packaging and on the blade. The sales person told me that it was designed by Tops but I doubted it. Now you guys reminded me what it looked like. The Boker plus folders but with some design differences mostly the handle shape.

It was selling for around P 2,500.00 ( roughly $25 USD ) same as what a Boker Subcom would cost here. Almost put down money for it but decided against it.
