Would there be a reason for someone to get one over the other? I had the Leek and sold it, the blade was just too thin for me. And I don't really like small knives I'm just wondering for the people who own one over the other or both, if there is a benefit to having one and why?

Boker Kwaiken has better steel when compared to the base Leek, has a larger handle, thicker blade, better looks, IKBS ball bearings hence its smoother etc

People who like the Kwaiken
thicker blade
better steel
larger handle
more blade belly
better looks*
bearing flipper

People who like the Leek
Thinner blade
Flatter blade shape
Thinner handle
Lighter
Better looks*
assisted flipper

It really just depends on what you like. If the blade on the leek was too thin, then the Kwaiken may be a good choice for you. Many people avoid thick blades and value the blade shape and thinness of the Leek.

The kwaiken is a nicer, more expensive knife. I don't think these are very comparable knives because a plain boker kwaiken costs twice what a leek costs and is four times the cost if you get an upgraded one. If you want a smooth flipper then the kwaiken is an ok knife but I feel like there are better knives for the price. When it comes to the leek its pretty good for the price but I probably wouldn't buy it due to the assisted opening.

thanks for your response! I'll admit I didn't know much about the kwaiken and didn't know they were so far apart. After what you said, I'm not sure how they can be comparable now other than both being thinner blades. Thanks again!
