So i have the Titanium flipper and absolutely love it which begs the question...might boker offer more variations of said flipper (beyond Carbon Fiber) and possibly a slightly smaller one? i bet they would sell if the quality is as good as the titanium i have.

so no Boker love on the forum? I know it is slow in here but figured all the hype on various facebook groups would at least carry over here.

I would buy one if they added a lefty carry option. Kwaiken and Urban Trapper.

Where's the lefty-love, Boker?

I have a regular orange Kwaiken. Haven't been able to use it yet though.

Although my experience with the knife is quite limited at this point, I might pick up a flipper too if they did one with micarta or g10. I don't tend to prefer metal handles so the ti is out for me. I also have a few knives in carbon fiber aready, while I like it, I don't feel like paying a premium for it anymore.

I think the Kwaiken could be improved in general with drilled or skeletonized liners and handle scales that are flush with the liners. I may do these things to mine, along with the flipper mod, but I plan to use it stock for a while first.

I'm waiting on the VG10 titanium flipper to come. I currently carry the original green micarta version. I've done the flipper mod, detent adjustment, tip grind, and slight skeletonized of the non-locking side liner. I'm going to take off more steel from the liners later. Original weight according to Boker is 4.2oz. Mines weigh in at 3.9oz.

Looks like you did a pretty clean job on that liner. I'm a little surprised that only amounted to 3/10ths of an ounce.

I've been a bit spoiled lately, carrying an edc fixed blade that only weighs 2.8oz.

You won't see this. That's part of Lucas' design.

I've milled out the liners for quite a few knives, and the results have been similar. I'm probably not removing enough material. The balance between handle and blade has definitely improved though.

I hope they come out with a lightened version, with factory milled liners, and lightweight scales. I had the titanium flipper, and liked everything about it except the weight, and the fact that the handle and scales really put the balance too far back in the hand for my taste. So, lightened frame, G10 or Micarta scales, and a VG-10 or S30V stonewashed or satin finished blade, and I'd consider dropping the buck-and-a-half they now seem to be asking for these.

I think Boker would've done much better with the weight of the Kwaiken had the thick liners been done in titanium and milled out like the Urban Trapper. I ended up not getting the titanium Kwaiken due to the added weight over the micarta version. I picked up an Urban Trapper instead, and the weight difference is tremendous for having the same blade length as the Kwaiken. Don't get me wrong. The Urban Trapper is a super light duty pocket knife, unlike the solid feel of the Kwaiken. For now I'll have to settle with these and wait for Boker to come out with improvements.

Warning: Rant about Boker!

I love Boker collaborations, but I find very little collaborative effort on Boker's part. Seems that Boker simply buys a design, contracts a manufacturer in China, and then distributes the final product. Unfortunately for me, I'm a sucker for variety and low price so Boker's got my money. (Speaking of Boker Plus and Magnum only NOT the Tree Brand)
End rant.
