300 layers. Most Damascus is done around 60-120 layers I believe.

Boker makes several knives with this same Damascus process and the steel is also made from a Leopard I German Battle Tank barrel. they are quite expensive but rare. Don't know how much of this steel Boker was able to acquire. Very strong stuff at 60-61 HRC
 
Dude, that is awesome. Never really imagined that the barrel of a tank could be used for knife or tool steel. :thumbup:
 
Cool piece! There's something cool about opening a frosty cold beer with a tool made from a tank barrel.... :D

Not a bad asking price, either. I'll probably pick up a couple for gifts.
