I just received a Boker Copperliner that
I ordered over the internet. This knife
is a traditional looking (jigged bone)
single blade copperhead that
has a linerlock and a plastic
thumb stud (3 3/4"). It is a
great looking little knife, but I
have one problem with it. The Joint
is so tight and the handle so small
that it is impossible to open
with one hand. I have oiled it,
but that did not loosen it enough.
Now that I've seen and used this knife,
I have decided I would much prefer it
without the Cheap looking plastic stud
and with a nail nick. The linerlock
works great.

I quess they were trying to combine
the latest craze with the great
Style of a traditional pattern.

Anyone else had experience with
this knife or something similar?
How long has this knife been of
the market?

Is there a screw on the pivot that you can back off a hair? Often when knives are brand new they are very tight and then loosen as they get worn in. Get some Militec and a hair dryer and give it a couple of applications. Then use the thing for a week and report back to us. :)

Peter, there is no screw for adjustment.
it is basicly just like an ordinary slipjoint,
(is pinned together)
except it has a washer of some kind on each
side of the blade.

It has loosened up some, but it is still
very hard to open one handed.

I had a Kershaw double cross. I think it is similar to what you are describing. Since they are liner locks and have to have a very strong detent to stay closed for loose pocket carry, it is very hard to open with a thumbstud. I thought the design was the cat's meow when I first saw it. Turns out I love the concept and looks. It just doesn't work for me. I prefer to carry a one hander and slipjoint seperate. Some hear think they are great though. I have not seen this one you are talking about.

Magician,

Yes I have been looking at the
Double Cross & Double Duty on
the net and have been tempted
to try one out.
I like the looks of it and the
2 locking blades, but again I
wish they had left the thumb
stud off.

My Dream knife would be an
ordinary diamond back stockman
(4"). With a locking main blade.
Why won't they make this knife
for us??!
