I should be getting my Boker M-type plain edge in the mail today after I take my final and go home. I can't wait to get it, but since I'm waiting for it, does anybody have experience using it?

I'll post tonight, if I get the chance, to post a review on the knife.

Thanks ahead of time, J.

I haven't had the chance to really torture mine (nor do I really have the desire to, since it's too nice for that :D), but it locks up tight as a drum, cuts well through the cardboard and very small green branches (3/8" diameter and less) I've used as cutting media, and edge holding thus far has proven very, very good. Upon arrival, the edge was so-so, with a slightly uneven secondary bevel. I cleaned it up on my belt grinder (1x30 Harbor Freight, 600 grit Klingspor belt) and hand stropped on a loaded leather strop. It came out beautifully, being very smooth and scary sharp. Ergos are great too. It fits my hand essentially perfectly, and the thumbgrooves on the back of the blade are super grippy, without being overly sharp. I haven't been able to stop edc'ing this baby since the first day I got it. :thumbup:

What a knife!!!

I couldn't have expected more from a knife that cost me under $50.00.

I had no idea that it has an embedded steel liner on the G-10 side, and of course full steel for the frame lock side. It is a very nice knife and came shaving sharp right out of the package.

Great edge and blade shape too. The handle is thin, but not too thin. It's slim enough to sit in the pocket well, but fills the palm just right with it's wide handle. The blade is excellent for slicing with it's profile, and seems that it could easily take care of just about any chore.

This is my first Boker purchase, and it won't be my last. I can't wait to take this thing camping, hopefully soon with summer coming.

Overall, I think its a great knife especially for the money. Its my dedicated knife for food (apples and oranges mainly) as it is very easy to clean. I also like how thin the blade is, considering the length (which also helps as a food knife). Recurve is great and the steel is easily sharpened.

The only thing I do not like is that it hurts my hand when I grip it really hard, unlike my similar sized BMs or Spydercos.

Ooooooo, Flat Dark Earth G-10 scale :eek:?!?!? Don't tease me now :p.

the textured G-10 scale on the M-Type feels great in the hand....if the FRN scale of the Trance was exchanged with the G-10 of the M-Type.... i think it would make a great knife a little better :confused:;)

Aloha ALL,

Hey great pics guys!!! Cripes...I have those knives and even I feel like untamed!!!:p

Keep 'em coming guys, and mahalo MUCH!!!
God bless!!!:thumbup::cool::thumbup:

Thanks. I just added the Subcom fixed recently. Strange thing, the factory edge was like 30 degress per side (:eek:), so I put it on my 1x30 and took it to about 20 per with a bit of convex. Much better.

Kudos to bokerusa.com, by the way. I ordered a tek-lok for the FB sheath recently, and I got an "item has shipped" email the next day, and the item arrived like two or thee days later. WooHoo! :thumbup:
