Anyone have any experience with Boker Magnum Bonsai knives? You can get most models for 13 bucks, so around the same price as Rough Rider. I'm looking at their barlow and razor trapper right now.

I hope they're good as I've just bought the Barlow model.

Should be here tomorrow. I'll let you know what I think then.

Fit and finish varies from what I've handled at SMKW. I have owned both the stag and redbone canoes. They sharpen well and edge holding wasn't too bad. Personally, I think they are a lot better than Rough Rider. Mine did not have any blade play at all. I think you be at least content with the Bonsais.

That sucks. I posted this & after nobody responded I went ahead & ordered a RR Barlow! Oh well, I know what to expect & the price wasn't bad.

I just got my Boker catalog in the mail today...I must say I am amazed at the depth of products being offered with the Boker name as well as the range of pricing. They either have every gnome in Germany making knives or they are out sourcing the less expensive lines. I see many I like but my recent purchase from Ken has depleted the knife fund for awhile. I am looking forward to reading a report on the barlow tho.

Just got the Boker Bonsai Barlow.

I must say I'm very pleased with it. Fit and finish is very good, it came sharp with a good grind on the blades. I can see it being a very nice user.

It's made in China of course, but I've a German made Tree Brand Boker Barlow in carbon steel and I think I like the Chinese one better.

For the price its a very nice knife, not quite as good as my Case Barlows but
not far off, not far at all.

I picked up a Rough Rider Canoe as well and there again it's outstanding value for money. I'd say both the Boker and the RR are pretty much on a par quality wise.

I thing you'll be pleasantly surprised with the RR screwthe49ers

Glad to hear it turned out good. Mine should be here Thursday, probly. I'll post some pics an comments about it and a couple other recent purchases: Case cv peanut, case swayback jack, gec #73, rough rider reverse gunstock, and a kissing krane small sodbuster.
