Have any of you tried out the Boker Magnum series of knives? They have very good prices and some nice looking damascus, and I was wondering how the overall fit and finish is.

Anyone? I see the Boker Magnum Earl with 3" damascus blade for under $50, and I am curious as to whether or not I should buy it.

Hi - I don't know the model you're referring to, but I did buy the Magnum AK74 about 2 years ago. Aluminum handle scales, AUS8a blade, sharp and well angled secondary grind on a recurve blade, sturdy liners and very well built....a really nice quality feel to it. Only gripe is that it doesn't have a clip, so it's pocket or pouch carry only. I've recently bought the Boker Kalashnikov 101. Different class of knife - it's really huge - but, frankly, the two knives are on a par in terms of quality. My son has the AK74 now - he really likes it. I sometimes find myself wishing I'd given him another knife instead!!!
Good Luck!

The only knives from Boker that I belive are great for the money are all CLB designs. Other than these I don't really buy anything from boker.

I"ve only bought the CLB designed Bokers which I can recommend and the RJ Martin Rampage.... which I also recommend

One of my earlier knives was a boker magnum made with 440 steel with G10 like scales. It came nice and sharp and locked up okay, but after two years of use the srews came out of the handle and the scales started to fall off. It was nothing super glue could not fix but it was a large annoyance

jailandboy: What is the knife on top in the pic you have shown us? That is what is now called a 'recurve' blade?
thank you, riata

I have a limited ed. combat fixed blade designed by Dietmar Pohl and have to say it is a very very excellant combat knife. Grinds are crisp and sharp, guard is fitted extremely well to the ricasso with no gaps and the leather sheath although not stellar is not bad either. I am happy with it especially at the price I paid.

I also just picked up a Brend folder, it is put together very well but the liner hits way right so sending it back. Other than that it seems like a very well made knife. keepem sharp

boker is a well known reputation, but they have several 'sub models'.
I believe their Boker Magnum brand is made in Asia (good quality control, of course).
they also have Boker Arbolito (made in Argentina), but they make many of their primary brands in the old country.

Longbow: which Pohl Dietmar fighter do you have?

The top f.b. It is a very nicely manufactured knife I have to say. keepem sharp

I love the Subcom, the RB line and I agree that the 74 Autos are awesome knives for the money. We have sold 100's and I do not remember not one not being very well made, solid knives.

Do you have any more pics of that last knife, along with more information?
