Boker medium stockman

from what I've noticed before on some other brands, when they say "high carbon stainless steel" they usually mean 440C.

Got it, thanks. I was thinking about picking it up, I'm in the market for a stockman. I think I'll just get the beer barrel one though, there's something about carbon steel.

Actually, I think if it's 440C, they usually say so. "high carbon stainless" tends to mean 440A.

Good choice. Boker carbon steel is very well done, and the beer barrel series is pretty cool if you want something a little unusual.

Yeah, thats possible, a few of the knives I had seen that were labeled as "high carbon stainless" ended up being 440C. Since 440c does have more carbon than 440A. It would seem plausible that "high carbon stainless" would be 440C. Problem is it depends on the manufacturer considered "High". Best way to find out would be to e-mail boker usa.
also just an FYI the tree brand knives, "The ones with Germany on the shield, and sold at a lower price point are from Germany, but with parts sourced from China. These will start with an item number 1107... or 1102..." -TRT (boker usa moderator) as opposed the other tree brand are german made parts.
