Dear Bladeforums members,

I need your help! What would you say, honestly, about having an annual knife meeting at the Boker USA sales office/distribution facility in Denver, Colorado, with Boker USA and Boker Germany?

What would this accomplish?
You could talk to the staff at Boker USA and representatives from Boker Germany, get your questions answered, handle some new Boker products, see prototypes of new designs in the making, and even find out about future projects!

When would it be?
We’re thinking sometime in the spring time. It’s a great time of year for a vacation in the Rocky Mountains, and you could make an appearance at the knife meeting while you’re in town!

What’s our goal?
We just want to meet with our customers; shoot the breeze, have a good time. So if you’re a knife enthusiast who is interested in visiting Boker USA and meeting some of the Boker Germany crew, just send a short email or PM to Terry or to me and we will put you on the list. No admission fee. The number of visitors will be limited to 20 people, so act fast!

Replies to this thread are appreciated, so we can get a feel for the level of interest in an event such as this.

Questions? Don’t hesitate to contact Terry or myself.

Hope to see you in Denver!

Regards from Solingen, Germany,

Tobias

Will they have BEER? SPATEN? :)
Sounds like a good idea. ;)

Beer in Colorado? Do they even make that there? - from the city that used to host America's largest brewery

.... scary enough, I guess that's now Boston Brewery (Sam Adam's "Boston" Lager) which ironically was developped in ... you guess it A-B's former hometown of St Louis MO ... No they aren't planning to close the St Louis brewery (yet) ... just seems odd to a native Missourian to say the world's largest brewer is Belgium.

They may have the biggest in Belgium, but the small breweries there are the best. Try Chimay Blue.... excellent....
Thanks,
Terry

If it were around the end of School, I would be more likely to make it. Let's say around June 1, or thereabouts.

There's a place up by Granby Lake I want to visit.

I just drove through Denver on Sunday, and was bummed to not be able to stop by. I'll make it a point to show up next time I'm in the area.

My wife really likes the area, and I could easily see myself living in Boulder in the future.

How about setting up a web conference for those of us unavailable to make it :) ?

Anyone else interested in this event?
Or are there any wishes or suggestions?

Any information are highly appreciated.

Even crazy Americans need a more accurate date than "Spring" before they can sign up for something. ;)

This is just a test drive.
We want to evaluate how interesting an event like this is.
Certainly, we cannot plan coming from Germany to Denver for 5 persons from the BF, and on the other hand, we cannot handle more than 20 people...

We were just curious on the reaction on this thread. so please, everyone, who is interested generally, please reply to this thread.

We will count the post and certainly, we will put down an accurate date for this event!

If there are any questions, just PM me or Terry.

I think it's a great idea, but maybe more than most people can afford to fly out to Denver. At least more than I can spend. :)

Sounds like a great idea! Direct contact between manufacturers and customers/dealers is the best way for both to gather information. I would be very interested.

Being in UK I won't be able to attend.

But here is my suggestion:

The Boker Automat Kalashnikov 101 is an amazing knife and I think Boker should 'milk' it a little more.

I'd like to see higher end variants with more premium steels (perhaps 154CM) and different handle materials (sculpted G10?, titanium). Since Boker isn't really into higher end steels I think that request would require 'large' changes to the business model.
