OK I have some bass pro points to spend and am looking at the Boker Stagg handle bowie and the Puma Stagg handle bowie and wonder which one is the better knife. Is one better than the other as far as blade steel or anything? Any help would be great thanks.

I prefer Boker knives, especially for folders. Puma brand reminds me of the same kind of quality from Bear Cutlery here in the states. Boker seems to have an edge. I do have a Puma stag bowie and I really like it. It is the type where the end of the knife is heavy and thick. Some Boker bowie knives are built in Argentina, not Germany. I don't own one from Argentina so I can't talk about their quality. Some Bokers use 420 steel while others use 440 or 440C steel.

I own several pumas and bokers,I've seen great knives from both and some junk from them too. I think pumas steel is better than bokers 420,and I like it better than thier 440c as well, although it might not be "better" the 440c will probobly hold and edge longer, but puma's d1.4 sharpens easy and takes a fine edge.
