Well I've had it for a week now, here's what I think.

There's no piccy, mainly because there's no point. You can do a quikck search on any knife selling site and get a piccy if you need one, but honesty there is no picture in the world that can do it justice.

It's a small knife. I'm not used to small knives, but I wanted something little and pretty I could use when LEOs/sheeple are around. Just under 7" OAL, blade length 2.75". Handle material is carbon fibre, blade, clip, liner, and thumbstud made of a titanium alloy, screws made of bead-blasted steel. Straight out of the box my first thought was "It's so tiny", followed by "but *so* pretty". The amazing coating on this has to be seen to be believed, I think it looks even better than my damascus blades. Weighs 2.4oz.

Out of the box, it was something less that shaving sharp. So without sharpening it, I took it to work with me.

At Work: I work a ten hour shift, and if you were to add up the time spent cutting paper/plastic sheeting/cardboard, it comes up to around 3 or 4 hours of constant use. This knife did not last it. After roughly 1 hour of "constant" use (about three hours into the shift), I put it back in my pocket and used other knives. Note the materials I'm cutting: as much as I enjoy Cliff's "test to destruction" methods, or other people's "this thing coiuld skin 14 elks in a row", that's not what I (or the majority of you) use the knife for.

At home: So I took it back and sharpened it (by hand, diamond powdered plates, no sharpmaker/lansky for me, I think sharpening by hand is a skill and a joy, using a pre-set angle and just wiping the blade through a "V" is so boring.). It didn't take long to bring it back to a factory-equivalent edge, and roughly 5 mins later it was shaving the hairs off my arm. Tested again with paper and cardboard, seemed fine.

Rest of the week: So I've been taking this thing to work with my every day since, it lives clipped inside my front right pocket (with the baccy tin and lighter). One thing I should note is that it's *very* noticeable The clip is low, so roughly 1" of the clip-end shows. Everyone sees it. But, when they ask and I pull it out to show it off, they love it. The most frequent comments I get from men are: "Cool" and "that blade looks like old camoflage". The most frequent comment from women is "That's really pretty". Usually followed by asking how much it is (I've learned to never tell them, they think anything over £5 is too much to pay for a knife).

Most important question: So is it a "great" knife for EDC?

For me personally, no. It's edge holding hasn't improved (after my sharpening job, it now lasts an average of 2 hours constant use, only half a shift and it needs touching up every time I come home), and I need a knife that'll last all night at least, preferably a few days.

For hunters: Certainly not. It's small, light, and to me far too fiddly.

For office workers: Oh yes. If you want a letter opener that gets attention in a positive way (Hey, look at this, it's so cool/pretty/great-looking), I couldn't recommend any knife more. It looks both modern and slightly old-fasioned, it's small enough to be non-threatening while still large enough to actually use (although I'm only 5'6" about 125lbs, average sized hands for someone my size, and I think it feels a little small. You 6'6" linebacks might find it dissapearing in your mighty paws).

For people that want a knife while mingling with suits: Oh yeah, this thing is definitely my "dress knife" for occasions which need me suited.

For self-defense minded tacticalninjadeathmongers: Of course not, it's not made of the latest alphabet soup supersteel,it's not "tactical", the handle's too small for a good reverse grip (although saber is fine), and carbon fibre's too slick to hold on to when it gets covered in sweat (or blood).

I do just have to say something about the thumbstud though. It's the best one-hand opener I've ever used bar none purely because of this. It's a half-oval in shape, 5/8ths long by 1/4" wide, cross-hatched, and beats every single thumbstud I've ever met for sheer comfort and ease of use.

So tell me if I missed anything.
