I'm getting antsy waiting for my Exskelibur I and II orders to arrive. Any love for these knives here? Does anyone EDC one of these? Opinions, reviews, comparison photos pls!

I've had one for quite a while now, and like it a lot. Boker does good things with their 440C.., takes a razor edge and seems to hold it well. The only thing i'd change about it is the pivot. I wish they used a standard fastener so I wouldn't have to rig something up the few times it's needed adjustment.

I had one too. Its a great little knife...very light and took a razor edge. I love the opening lip on it. It might be made in China but fit and finish was exemplary. I've since sold it cause it made me want the real deal (Burger EXK) even more.

hopefully mine will have the pivot tool included. tho it is a valid concern since i won't be EDCing the pivot tool.

These arrived today. I'm very happy with all of them after unboxing. Each one came with the pivot tool. Now I get to decide which one to carry tomorrow! :D

13+-+1

Hope to post a more detailed review after spending some time with them.

They're shipping with pivot tools now? Might have to give Boker a call....

Glad you're enjoying your new purchase!

Yes, a pivot tool is included in the box.

I'm carrying the Exskelibur I today. It's really light compared to my zt 0550 or hinderer xm-18 3.5. The length is perfect, I cannot feel it in the pocket when sitting down. Really digging the clean look of this knife.

Please do.

After one week of edc here is my first impression. The look of exskelibur I is growing on me. The combination of black textured g10, blue anodized ti lockside liner, and boker's trademark red thin liner reminds me of a tailored italian suit. The opening mechanism is addictive to say the least. Using the side of my thumb against the jimping on the blade spine, I can flip the blade open like how I would open a zippo lighter. The liner lock snaps crisply, without sounding forceful or tactical, fitting for a gentleman's folder. I have taken it out in restaurants and it does not attract strange looks from others like my overbuilt framelocks do. Yet when it's open, the blade is broad, and has plenty of cutting edge for all but the most heavy duty tasks.

Every design of the knife fits that of a gentleman's folder. The only gripe I have so far is the smoothness of the pivot. I think mine came without enough oil or is dried out. So it sounds a bit scratchy right now. If I were to improve this knife, I would use thinner washers in the pivot. This would make the tolerances tighter around the blade. And we all appreciate knives built with high precision.

One note about the exskelibur vs exskelimoor. The exskelimoor handle is symmetric in that it has ti liners on both sides, while the exskelibur only has ti liner on the lockside, with only g10 on the nonlock side. This makes the exskelibur thinner (maybe lighter) than the exskelimoor. while i prefer the thinness of the exskelibur since it looks sexier, the blade is not aligned on the center axis of the handle, much like the blade on the spyderco southard.

That's all I have after one week of carrying and opening letters and boxes. If you have specific questions pls ask. I have all 4 models so I'll answer them as best as I could.

I really like my exskelibur! Very high quality for the price point IMO. My only complaint is the clip retaining screws...tiny cheap little things that are eager to strip. Other than that, super impressed

Thank you 99cuts for the follow-up. I carry the small G-10 version and love it. My pivot was the same as yours, so a bit of lube solved the scratchy feel. It's the detent ball riding on the blade. I also agree with the clip screws being to small and dinky.

I made a little overview several months ago... :)

Great review. Thanks for sharing. Were you able to fix the blade centering? One of mine has the same issue.

Is it easy to open?

The larger versions are super easy to open. I also enjoy the action on it. The smaller versions take more focus and practice.

I'm a fan of them, Gareth Bull's knives also deploy the same way, and such an elegant and simple design.

99cuts: Yes I was able to fix the decentered blade, after the tool was sent to me. It´s a special tool. And nothing in my (well prepared) tool box was able to fix that. I carry the Exskelibur II sometimes at the office etc. :)
