I recently read a very favorable article about the Boker Plus G4, Being a fan of the Warncliff blade and well done 440C, and at the price I figured I'd have to give it a try.

Well, I received the G4 last week and my initial impression is very good to say the least. After researching it I found to my surprise this model has been around for some time. The article I read was in this months issue of blade, I figured it a new or recent addition to the Boker Plus line up. Turns out it's been around for years and I was also surprised to find out it's been recently discontinued. Glad I got one!

Like I said I'm very impressed with this knife so far, great feel & ergo's in hand, solid smooth lock up, and really nice sized 3 7/8" 440C Warcliff blade. I like everything about it so far.

Wanted to ask since it has been around a while, anyone else have one and what are your thoughts / impressions and experiences with it so far?

Thanks!

have had mine for awhile now. really good design by clb, as usual and expected. no complaints for the price. not a big fan of the boker 440c asian steel though. mine has a tough time taking a good edge.....but i can get one with patience.

i'm also not a big fan of the blade coating. makes re-profiling tougher than it should be. it's a real bear to remove it and the get to the steel under it. corrosion resistance it's good, no issue there on mine and it's been wet, and sat in sweat saturated pockets form the florida heat, and my sweat is like acid. plus it's spent plenty of time in the sulphur swamp water as well, with no issues.

enjoy yours...it's a pretty good knife for the money.

Thanks!

The factory edge on the one I just received is very sharp. Guess I'll see how it works out when I have to touch it up.

So far so good as far as my impressions. Really haven't put it threw and "real" use yet but trying lol. Just a few boxes so far but I'm carrying it so I'll see what comes up.

Thanks again for the input and your thoughts

When it was on sale as a disco'ed model, I got one. The edge grind on the first one was a nightmare, a total waveline. I sent it back, got a new one, which had a decent edge. Unfortunately, it had a lot of bladeplay and when I fastened the pivot screw the blade was completely off center. Now it lies in one of my knife drawers, waiting to get fixed, but those allenhead screws are so easily messed up, that stayed away from this task. Maybe one day I'll find the courage to take care of it. It's definitely not what this knife deserves with its wonderful open pillar construction, excellent G10 scales and unique blade profile. So we'll see...
