Boker Plus Kwaiken Flipper vs Mcusta Katana

My vote is for the Mcusta. I personally find the Boker Kwaiken bit boring, but the design is good if you are looking for something minimalistic and contemporary. The build quality should be about equal. The Katana's VG-10 is probably a little bit better than the Kwaiken's AUS-8, and the Katana's pocket clip doesn't look like a complete afterthought.

The only thing I don't like about the Katana is its blade shape - the tanto shape with the transition point in the middle of the blade. I prefer a single edge with a bit of belly, which is why I own and use a Mcusta MC-16D. In the end, it really just depends on if you like the Katana's flashy color schemes.

tl;dr: I am biased towards Mcusta, and I hate the Kwaiken's pocket clip.

yes VG-10 is better then Aus-8 but the IKBS is the true difference here, it adds a whole new level of smooth opening. You can also mod the kwaiken to add a flipper or just wait for the factory flipper version that's coming. IKBS + flipper = win. Its also much easier to have custom scales made for the kwaiken.

Ive always found the mcusta very tacky. The handle pattern made to look like a wrap and the blade shape is awful.

Not a huge fan of Burnley's kwaiken design but the blade shape and overall profile are a lot more traditional. Also the use of IKBS is a huge plus.

Really?!! Hadn't heard that. I'll wait. That should be a real winner.

i dunno 'bout winning.
but this much, i do know...
in that between the two,
i can stare at the kwaiken forever
and never get bored.
