Boker Plus Kwaiken: The Major Issues?

New guy here. I'm not really a knife guy, but I was looking to replace my old pocketknife and I ended up sucked into your world. Next thing I know, I've ordered several knives. The first to arrive was the Boker Plus Kwaiken.

I was instantly attracted to the design of the Kwaiken, but I read up enough to know there were some issues with it. A few things I noticed right away when I opened mine:

1. Mine came with what appears to be the larger thumb disc.
2. The blade tip also didn't seem very likely to snag my finger or pants while folded.
3. The back spacer was not some cheap looking black plastic

These seem to be the major gripes of most online reviews. I'm happy to report that my new knife suffers from none of the old issues. Maybe I'm just crazy or too forgiving. Take a look at my photos below and judge for yourself. Thought I'd just throw this info out there for anyone thinking about getting one of these.

One last thing, this knife is beautiful and fits in the pocket; however, it's the kind of knife that would probably scare most non-knife loving people. I will not be opening it up in public places. So my replacement pocketknife search continues.

Centering's off a bit, but that can be fixed. It still looks like they deform the torx on the pivot a little bit on the folders. The nipping blade tip can be addressed by a quick run of the tip over a stone, so I'm glad they're addressing it now on the micarta folders. I believe the one you bought is made in China, while the flipper is Taiwan. The Taiwanese build quality--at least with the first batch of ti flippers--was top quality.

Been waiting for months now for dealers to get new ti flippers.

The Burnley folder deign is gorgeous.
I EDC a pimped Boker CLB Hyper. Try one.
