Does anyone here have a Boker Plus MA-2?

This innovative piece by American designers Miltner and Adams offers extraordinary user safety. With its Top Grip construction, this knife is 100% safe in your hand, in any situation. The handle design allows the user to open their hand in order to grab or hold another object, without the risk of losing the knife. An extremely compact piece, ideal for a variety of tasks.

·Titanium coated 440C stainless steel construction
·5-1/8" overall
·Fiber reinforced nylon sheath with belt clip

It's a very unique looking design. Has anyone handled one?
I like the idea of retaining the knife even with your hand open, kinda like the custom H.A.K.

I got one at Blade. Very handy design, very discreet to carry and easy to deploy. Great value as well. One complaint is the belt clip is VERY tight. Actually hard to get on belt.

super tight sheath, too. I find the knife most comfy in a reverse grip--the holes aren't quite large enough to hold it comfortably in a forward grip for me, and I take a ladies size 8 glove! :o

Maybe I'm just not holding it right...

42Blades, are you trying to get your fingers all the way in? Just push your fingers in up to the first joint, or the middle segment of each finger. And I only use the last three holes for my index, middle, and ring fingers.

I end up finding it uncomfortable to have just the first joint of my index finger in. That hand position makes the slight corner at the butt of the knife rub my palm in a most uncomfortable way. It would be comfortable if I could get my index finger in all the way, since my hand would no longer be making contact against said corner. The only answer would be for either my hands or the knife to be bigger. I suppose it's just one of the drawbacks to such a design--not all hand sizes will fit it comfortably. :)

Has anyone thought of a good set of tasks for this thing? The best I can think of is a box cutter. The design does not lend itself to cuts of any real depth.

I'll see if I can post a pic tomorrow. We can't be holding it the same way. The butt is nowhere near my palm.

It's not really a utility knife, anymore than the Emerson La Griffe is.

Esav, could you post comparison pics with both the LaGriffe and the Swick? I love both of these knives, and will likely pick up this Boker if I think it will work out as well for me.

Though the La Griffe does lend itself to SOME utility tasks at least. I was mostly wondering if there was anything it was good for OTHER than messing somebody up. :)

Thanks for the info so far.

This thing is out of stock at a lot of traditional istores. The latest catalog from a certain famous NW Arkansas knifemaker offers it.

I'm wanting to downsize the tactical folder while justifying the utility of EMT shears at work. The one chore I can't get around is cutting 1" heater hose. It takes a knife. Time to drag out the HAK and order a MA-2 for comparison. If they can cut heater hose and dismember antifreeze boxes, they're good enough as a utility knife in the strict sense of the word.

Something fun to do at work.
