I have been looking at a boker for some time now. And i am very interested in the boker plus bowie. Now i am confused as to the "PLUS" does that mean something like.... our affordable but still good series? Or is it an elite category series? something along those lines? I am quite the fan of the looks of this knife But i want it to last me a long time soooo Affordable but still good series won't cut it for me i don't think.

Any thoughts?

Oh and are there any boker dealers in Canada??? i am having a REALLY hard time finding any that carry this knife.

The Boker Plus series is a series that for the most part looks "tactical". I have 3 (very popular in fact) folders from this series (all by the same talented designer): the Subcom, the Trance and The M-type. All of these offer tremendous value for money and that's a key benefit of the series. Now, to achieve this they are made in far away, Taiwan I believe, and this may or may not matter to you. Of my 3 knives, I prefer the Trance.
I think I played with the bowie knife you're referring to in a local shop and the quality is amazing for the price, if you care for this kind of gigantic knife (it's not for me!). Personally, while the quality seemed very convincing, I would rather buy a smaller fixed blade Fallkniven F1 for not much more.

Well, I bought my M-type from this Canadian ebay shop. For that knife it was one of the cheapest and shipping to Europe was marvelously quick. The bowie and the similar valkyrie (which I think looks a bit better) are offered at very reasonable prices. (I have no relation with the shop)

enjoy.

BOKER PLUS make knives in Taiwan and China.

Many of their folding knives come from Taiwan and fixed blades from China.

I have the Boker AK101 and AK102 and am -very- impressed with the knife (see my review in the Boker sub-forum).

The blade is 440C but the sharpness! Oh lord!

My favourite knife.

P.S. I also have the Boker Armed forces tanto fixed blade with the chisel edge. I can't beleive I'm saying this but it is more sharper than most folding knives I have. Oh, and it's made in China.

Thanks alot guys! thanks so much for the info that settles it :) Ill be buying one soon!
