I received mine in the mail, opened it, checked for lateral blade play was OK, checked for vertical blade play and it was so bad I folded it back up and sent it back.

Was this just a fluke or has anyone else experienced extreme amount of vertical blade play in this knife?

I just gave my Titan Drop to my friend for an early birthday present last weekend. He is in no way a "knife guy" and he loves it...

Me? I couldn't stand it...

- Vertical blade play because the blade and lock didn't fit together well.
- ZERO jimping so it had awful grip. Its really slippery, especially the spine so you can't rely on your thumb for gripping
- Way too thin of a knife for my tastes as well
- Overall fit and finish just aren't what the pictures suggest

it looks like a very nice knife.

Indeed, but the fun ends there. Definitely a knife you'd want to handle before purchasing, even if it is <$50. Not for everyone.

I never really was attracted to any Boker or Boker Plus products, and the Titan will probably be the first and last that I purchase. There are just so many better options out there if you ask me.

[P.S. If you're like me and can't help but disassemble and reassemble every knife you own then probably not a good idea to open up the Titan. It was literally the most difficult knife to put back together that I have ever had.]

I love mine. The thin profile in my pocket makes it a pleasure to carry, and I've had 0 play issues. I like a knife sometimes that is not jimped all to hell, or so over grippy that I have to dink around sanding the scales all to heck just to use the pocket clip without a hole in my pants later. The long wide thin blade is nice for slicing with ease. Of course, Boker is quickly becoming one of my favorites, mostly because their product is not the same old tacticool crap everyone else seeems to put out.

I bought it because it looks very much like a Loveless drop point.

My Kabar Dozier large hunter is the basically the same knife but different materials and I really like it. It locks up solid and the texture of the handles is positively grippy. In my mind I was expecting Titan Drop would be the "gentleman's" version.

But ya I agree the Titan Drop was a disappointment.
