Got this in a trade a while back, and I absolutely love this knife. I like Ti handles, and I've wondered for a while why there were no lockback Ti knives out there. Then I ran across this one in the A.G. Russell catalog, and then one came up for trade before I could order. (Sorry, A.G. ;))

Overall, a very nicely engineered piece of cutting equipment. I like it as much as my Spyderco Endura 4's. The Boker Titan drop-point weighs in at 4.2 oz. on our little digital kitchen scale.

Size comparison, with a U.S. Schrade LB7 on top and a Spyderco Endura 4 on the bottom:

Boker Plus Titan Drop-point has the thinnest handle of the three:

It looks like a small pin seems to retain the spring, a good idea I think. Look where the bow of the clip is, and you'll see the little pin in there:

Removable thumbstud, for those places that don't allow one-handed-openers :

For a sub-$40. knife, this is a stellar deal, guys.

Nice looking piece.....do you know the weight?

Are those scratches from opening and closing it?

Sorry for the late response here - we just moved, and I forgot about starting this thread. I'll get an actual weight tomorrow, and I'm pretty sure the scratches around the blade tang are from opening/closing. It's been through a bit of work during our move here.

how easy to sharpen is the Titan drop-point, and edge retaining? Can you get it to a razor's edge?

Fairly easy for me, as most of my users are 440-type blade steels. I keep this one sharpened with a Lansky sharpener's 'medium' stone, rougher than a 'fine' edge. It cuts through rope & twine really quick that way. Sharpening to a polished edge may be possible, but I don't usually do that with my working knives.

I just acquired one of these last week and so far I am very happy with it. The fit and finish were very good out of the box. It was razor sharp, but possibly ground a bit thin at the edge. I cut cardboard a few times and the edge seem to become more toothy right away. However, I simply stropped it after that first experience and then cut quite a few more pieces of cardboard yesterday to get them to fit in my trash bin and the edge didn't seem to dull at all. I think the stropping helped to polish the edge and as of now, I am very happy with the knife. After yesterday's cutting I passed it on a strop a few more times and it is still shaving sharp.

So far, no complaints, other than the clip screws have worked a little loose. Once we settle in and I get all my tools figured out, I'll re-tighten with locktite.
